Kat Von D Lolita Lip Duo

Kat Von D released this mini everlasting liquid lipsticks duo set at Sephora. I was curious to try the Lolita II that is limited to this set only. After trying it out, I really hope she can release this Lolita II shade as a permanent full size product. I love it so much more than the now Lolita I. I still have the original Lolita I in full size, and the color is so much prettier than the now Lolita I. This set is $19 right now, and I am praying for her to make Lolita II a permanent shade in her everlasting liquid lipstick line.

What it is:
A limited-edition, exclusive, mini lip duo featuring Kat Von D’s covetable Lolita shade and brand-new Lolita II Liquid Lipsticks.

What it does:
Discover Kat Von D’s iconic shade that revamped the classic, neutral lip—along with a brighter version for a bolder look. These mini Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks include the most wanted lip color, Lolita, in the hard-to-find original chestnut rose, and Lolita II, in a terra cotta nude hue. Formulated to give you long-lasting wear and high-pigment color, the creamy, color-rich lipsticks glide on to lips like a gloss and dry to a true matte finish. Their next-level formula is infused with natural, comfort-enhancing ingredients—including vitamin E and sunflower seed wax—so you can flaunt an everlasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable.

This set contains:
- 2 x 0.10 oz Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita (chestnut rose), Lolita II (terra cotta nude)

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
If Lolita’s deep chestnut rose isn’t your style, try Lolita II—it’s gorgeous on warmer skintones. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is 100 percent vegan. Kat Von D Beauty never tests on animals and never will.

When swatched side by side, Lolita I is much darker and has more pinky brown tone. Whereas Lolita II is a warmer peachy terra-cotta shade that is flattering on everyone, and perfect for the Fall. So if she's going to make this permanent, she better make it happen NOW!

Lolita I

Lolita II

Below is a comparison of the original Lolita I on the far right side. Lolita II is the middle shade here. The original Lolita I is much more pink and softer than the new Lolita I which is almost purplish and grey.

I'm really not a fan of the newer Lolita I because it's so much more dull compared to the old original color. However, I love Lolita II, but my tube's stopper doesn't work, and I got tons of excessive product gushing out of the tube that I had to return this set. Like I said, I'm just going to wait until she release Lolita II as a permanent shade so I can get a full sized one.

Update: I purchased the full sized Lolita II as soon as it's released on Sephora.com. It's so pretty, and I realized the formula is not as long wearing as it used to be. Not sure what happened, but I still love the shade and how comfortable it's on the lips.

You are getting one full sized limited edition studded kiss lipstick in this set along with 7 mini sized lipsticks that are available as full sizes in Kat Von D's permanent studded kiss lipstick line. One full sized lipstick retails for $21 so this set has a pretty good value considering having 8 shades to try.

I love the packaging of these studded kiss lipsticks, and they are usually in black as you can see in the pictures below with the exception of the full sized limited edition shade in a white packing.

Noble matte petal pink nude (cult favorite)
Not my favorite because of the much dryer formula makes it harder to apply comparing to some of the other shades. It's also just a tad bit too pale for my skintone.

Coven matte lavender
This formula is the same as Noble. It's on the dryer side which doesn't allow much glide across the lips. It's also not flattering on my skintone at all.

Sexer iridescent fluorescent pink
Interesting color that has a slight blue shift to it, but a little sheer.

Nayeon pitch black w/ gunmetal shimmer
Very unique and smooth application but lack of full opacity.

Wolvesmouth metallic berry
This is my favorite out of this whole set, and I think I will either get a full size or the new nail/lip mini set from Sephora x Kat Von D. It applied the smoothest and it's just an unique shade with a slight purple shift to it.

Halo neon clementine
I almost got a full size of this at the store, but glad I didn't. As much as I love the shade itself with the metallic and glitters, it's unforgiving on my lips. It really accentuated all of my lines, textures, dry and flakiness. It's a beautiful color and unique and cheerful, but sucks that I won't be able to wear it:/ The glitters are pretty chunky in this one as well comparing to the limited edition shade and Nayeon. I just don't want to eat up glitters whenever I wear this color.

Bachelorette matte reddish fuchsia (cult favorite)
One of my favorites which I have both in a full sized lipstick and everlasting liquid lipstick. Somehow I always have a hard time capturing this gorgeous color on camera with natural lighting. This is a universal flattering color that will look good on everyone!

Gold Blooded - limited edition shade that's only available in this exclusive set.
This is a bright warmer toned orange red with golden glitters/shimmers throughout. It applies very opaque and creamy. It's a nice festive color that's great for the holidays! There are some chunky glitters in this one as well, so just keep in mind that you might end up eating some while wearing it.

My overall impression of this holiday set is that the value is not bad since you get to try out 9 shades. You also get one limited edition full sized lipstick which by the way is a beautiful color. If you have tried Kat Von D's studded kiss lipsticks, they are matte formula without much glide across the lips. They are a bit drying and not that comfortable comparing to some other matte lipsticks such as Charlotte Tilbury, Maybelline, Milani, and etc. However, these do stay on the lips much longer than the other comfortable ones. It might be the fact that the dryer formula clings onto the lips more than the creamier/silicone based lipsticks. If you haven't tried these, and you are into matte finished lipsticks, but not into liquid lipsticks that are super matte. These might be a good in between type of formula for you to try. If you are into fun colored lipsticks in general, I think these are great additions to your collection as well. I had to return the set in the end, mainly because I only liked one shade from this set, and didn't feel the need to keep the rest. I am a little sad that I won't be able to own the full sized limited edition shade, but I have something similar in a liquid lipstick form from OCC called Manhunter. I also just purchased a full sized studded kiss lipstick in Chula, which is a beautiful terra-cotta color that I'm loving for the Fall right now. I like this formula from Kat Von D, and I know not many people are into the matte/dryer textured lipsticks. Some of these actually did glide on smoother than others. I was surprised that NaYeon with it's silver glitter/shimmer in a black based lipstick would go on easier and smoother than Noble and Coven. I like it, and it's unique, but it's not as opaque as I would like it to be. It can probably be a good layering lipstick and alter other lipstick shades to somewhat darker and moodier.
