Glossier Products Review

I finally decided to try some products from Glossier, a brand that promotes healthy skin with their motto "Skin first, makeup second". I was intrigued because I kept seeing their products being raved and featured on some of the online forums that I subscribed to. I took the opportunity during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, and purchased a bunch of stuff to try. Even though this company was first known for it's skincare products, mostly for their lip salves, I really wanted to try their makeup products because I love makeup. I wanted to try their makeup because it's similar to Milk Makeup, very modern, minimalistic, and chic. I received everything in the mail the week after the sale. I wanted to try their highlighter sticks and their new face serums but they were all sold out. I will get those and post a separate blog later on. You can check out the close up pictures of product infos, swatches, and wear test below. This brand is made in the USA and cruelty free!

I love these sheer matte lipsticks! It's the perfect finish and formula I've been hoping for for my entire life(?) LOL:D It's perfect because it's build-able. It starts out with sheer wash of tint on the lips with just one coat, and then the more you layer on, the more intensity color payoff you get. The finish is matte, but a very lightweight and comfortable matte. Although it's not hydrating by any means, that's where their best selling lip salve comes in. That's why I need to get that stuff so I can have smooth and nice lips. Either ways, the packaging of these tubes are slim and streamlined. It's perfect for throw in the purse or in my case, my pant pocket:) It's not a lot of product so I assume I will get through these pretty quickly especially if I layer them for bolder looks all the time. I like how even after I build up the stronger color, the look for my lips is still very natural/tinted and "blurred". As I stated in my video review that I usually like to have a blurred edge around my lips because it's more "low maintenance" looking. (I know, kind of an oxymoron here) I got Leo because I'm a Leo, and it's a warm brownish nude color. I got Crush because it's a strawberry shade and I really like how it gave a hint of pinky red on the lips which is flattering on everyone. I got Jam, Yeah, I got the Jam, but seriously, I got it because it's a berry grape color and that's my Jam. I live for this type of color because it reminds  me of wine stained lips (was this a line from Taylor Swift lyrics or some other song? can't remember)

This is another super raved and hyped product from Glossier by a lot of magazines and online beauty forums so I have to try. I got the shade Blond as a part of their Phase 2 bundle set. I'm not sure why it's called Boy Brow. Maybe it's because full and bushy eyebrows are back on trend? I don't know but it's a grooming pomade, and the wand is very similar to the Benefit Gimme Brow brow gel. The old Benefit formula broke my eyebrows out, but the newly packaged one didn't. I wanted to give this a try because I personally don't fill in my eyebrows. I like tinted brow gel to deposit some colors into my brows and keep them in place. Most of the days, I would just comb out the foundations in my brows with a clean mascara wand. I have pretty full brows and I just tweeze them once a week. I don't like to spend a lot of time on them. I spend most of my time on my lashes with coats of mascaras so I don't want to waste more time on perfecting my eyebrows. Once a while, I do like to fill them in with a pencil and I do notice a difference since nice eyebrows do frame the whole face, but I just don't got time for that everyday. Overall, I don't see anything special with this brow pomade and it broke my eyebrows out:/

I got the foundation and their concealer to try. I got them both in the shade medium. It turned out that medium is perfect for my MAC NC20 skintone. Since they are both super sheer, they melt and blend into my skin seamlessly. However, their coverages are sheer. I believe this whole brand of makeup are on the sheer side because they want to promote healthier skin first. I guess once you have great skin, you really don't need any makeup, and if you really do, you only need minimum amount. Hence, these sheer finished products. I really like the Perfecting skin tint because it made my skin soft and supple. It's really sheer but still somehow evened out my skin tone which is great because my biggest concern is the discolorations on my face. I can always go back in with a concealer for spot concealing. The stretch concealer supposed to move with your skin, and it's not caky at all, but it doesn't cover anything, not even my dark circles. I definitely need color correcting. I guess if this concealer is a color corrector in the same formula would be better. Either way, these are great for the gym if you wear makeup for workout since they don't cake up and look really really natural. Otherwise, these are great for quick get ready and fuzz free type of makeup look.

Looks kind of darker when squeezed out, but blends in beautifully. The bottle and the name is very similar to the OCC skin tint, and I remember OCC skin tint has slightly more coverage than this, and it's more build-able. It's 1fl.oz so it's pretty standard.

Looks so much darker for some reason.
Could be the lighting, but I film and shoot in natural lighting all the time.
Once it blends in, you can't really detect it. Very lightweight, but slick and not sure how long this kind of formula can stay on the skin though. Giving the fact that it's so sheer coverage, I couldn't tell whether it's still on by the end of the day.

No flash with full face of Glossier products from this post. It definitely gives off a fresh and simple look. I didn't even have mascara on since this line hasn't yet released one. I just curled my lashes, and I really like how it turned out. Excuse my chapped lips though:/ The skin tint plus concealer gave a natural finish so my skin still shown through with some "glow".

These products don't have SPF so i don't think they give off white cast with flash photography. If you are seeing some type of white cast is probably my full body cellphone case with the plastic cover. Makeup still looks great in flash photography so I'm happy with these products:)

Pony Effect Stayfit Matte Lip Colour

I purchased these Pony Effect Stayfit Matte lip colours from Memebox when they had the new products promo deals. They were bundled into two per set, and was $18.50. The retail price for each individual ones was $16/18. I do apologize if I forget the actual retail price since Memebox doesn't sell this product anymore. I hope it's only because it's out of stock or maybe Pony makeup is revamping her brand or something. You can check out Pony's official makeup website, but it doesn't sell any products, and the only official seller that still carries this product is 11st which is a korean online shopping website. I never purchased through them so I can't give you any comment, and if you do purchase through that page, you might get charged for international shipping/duty fees. Maybe ebay sells these? I'm not sure. I hope Memebox sells these again because I do like the formula. They are thick like the Stila liquid lipsticks but in a more thick gel consistency. They feel really nice and comfortable. Once they dry down to a completely matte and transfer proof finish, they become lightweight and powdery(velvety not sticky). They wear pretty nicely throughout the day. The only one that I have major problem with is #Fantastic. It's patchy and uneven. It's frustrating because it's the perfect deep red/burgundy shade I was looking for in a comfortable liquid matte formula. I really wish it wouldn't be so streaky. Other than that, all the rest of the three shades are opaque and beautiful! The colors are all very vibrant and saturated. They have a light fruity scent which is very similar to most Korean lip products, and I much prefer this to heavy vanilla scent. Please see the close up swatches down below. I get solid 8 hours of wear time if I don't eat anything greasy. At around 4/5th hour, my lips do get a little bit dry feeling, but nothing uncomfortable and way better than most of the liquid to matte lipsticks that are out there on the market these days.
