A recent trip to the local Duane Reade got me purchased these new items from Wet n' Wild and NYC.
This is one of the new shades from the WNW Megalast Matte lipstick, 970 Purty Persimmon. It retails at Duane Reade for $1.99, and it is a bright orange color.
I absolutely love WNW Megalast Matte lipsticks. All of their shades are gorgeous, and the new Spring colors are even better. I cannot wait to go back and get all the other colors such as bubblegum pink, hot pink, etc. They go on creamy, and stays put all day, but do prime lips since they are not forgiving on dry lips. This bright orange is more of a blood orange, and I think there's another bright orange.
This is the new line of polish from WNW Spring collection and I believe it's going to be permanent. The bottles are a lot more sleek, and it really reminds me of the Sally Hansen Complete Nail Manicure polish. Even the brush tip is similar for it is a lot wider and promise one stroke covers one nail that sort of idea.
I bought the color in 203B 2% Milk since I needed a sheer nude color that I can wear for work. I previously had purchased the Megalast salon nail color in On a Trip which is a medium pastel purple color. This is a sheer shell color, and a bit more nude than the real 2% milk:) The brush tip is fairly easy to use, but feels a bit more corse than the Sally Hansen one. It retails at Duane Reade for $2.99.
A new single eyeshadow from the WNW line I found is 304 Trashed, which cost me $1.99 at Duane Reade. It is a matte black with silver glitters! I have never seen glitter shadows from WNW since I started purchasing them which would be about two three years ago(?). This is a great alternative to the shimmer shades WNW carries most of the time. They do offer matte singles and shimmery singles which I own and depot into a palette. There were few other new single shadows out as well, but this one really caught my attention, and I had to get it.
The funny thing was that I also found the Duane Reade next to my home had whole bunch of value packs makeup from different brands in one aisle. Among them, WNW also had their bundle pack which offered a new single eyeshadow color with an eyeliner. These cost $1.99 as well, and I was a bit upset since I already took the single shadow from above. I wish they would have different eyeliner pencils in these packs like their Baked collection, but these all came with black eyeliners. As much as I love black eyeliners, and you can never have too many black eyeliners, I didn't want to buy two value packs though I would get two black eyeliners for free. I decided to get just one pack, so I got this gorgeous cobalt blue with silver sparkles. It is in the shade Stagedive. I love that how WNW products all have a cruelty free logo on the packages:)

I also bought a Kohl liner from NYC line, and it is called 923 Charcoal. I thought it was only 1 cent since I'm a Duane Reade point reward member, but it came out with it's regular price at checkout which costs $0.99. It is still a bargain, but I have to say that this is not going to my waterline. It is dry and hard. It is not creamy at all, and the color payoff is so-so. Nevertheless, I do not have charcoal liners, so here it goes.
The most exciting and best buy from my trip to Duane Reade this time was this little palette from NYC. I only bought NYC nail polishes before, but never their makeup. I just prefer WNW over NYC because WNW is more pigmented though their price is about the same. However, when I saw NYC came out with these great little palette called Individual Eyes Smokin', which categorizes into Brown Eyes, Green Eyes, Hazel Eyes, and Blue Eyes (the one I bought below). The reason why I decided to give this a try was: 1. It was $3.99 but on sale for $2.99; 2. You get four decent sized eyeshadows along with an eye primer and a highlighter; 3. It is small, compact, convenient, light, and can create looks for Day and Night. The reason why I bought the palette for Blue eyes was because the shadows have soft shimmers in them. When it comes to buying cheaper cosmetics, it is easily to get shadows that are not pigmented at all. My experience was that lots matte shadows from cheapie stores or brands have tons fallout as well as sheer wash of color. The trick is to pick colors with shimmer or metallic finish since these do tend to give off more intensity. There were old NYC Individual Eyes palettes that contain mostly matte shadows, and these new ones are called Smokin' because of the added shimmery/metallic shadows. This particular palette for blue eyes, in my opinion, has pretty much all shimmery/metallic finish. I was right again, and these colors are beautiful as I swatched them on top of the primer that came with it. The highlighter is a nice pearl color that goes on smooth and gorgeous. The primer, to my surprise is actually really great, at least to my lids that is. I am experiencing way less creasing by the end of the day now, and it also serves as a concealer for canceling out uneven-ess of the eyelids. It's fairly creamy and applies smoothly. With these shadows, I've already created a neutral everyday look on my Youtube channel. I've been using this palette only for everyday work, and it just gives a natural look. It is also a great palette for all eye colors. I have brown eyes, and it compliments my brown eyes since the shimmer/metallic is flattering on everyone. This is called the Smokin' palette, so it means you can also create smokey eye look with it. I will probably upload another tutorial with this palette for a smokey look. I know Prom is coming up, and for the high school girls that are on a budget who want to look fabulous and have fun without breaking their wallets. I think this is a great little palette to get because it is so versatile, and it will last you for a good while which you will carry it on through work/College!
