L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm spf 15 in 219 Plush Plum

The new L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm has a much sleeker packaging compare to the Revlon Lip Butter (personally speaking). The plastic cover is slightly better quality than the Revlon. Retails at Duane Reade: $8.49 which is more expensive than the Revlon lip butter($7.49 at Walgreen, and maybe cheaper at Target).

I purchased the darkest shade from the whole bunch at Duane Reade to compare the pigmentation with the Revlon Lip Butter. The shade 219 Plush Plum is a gorgeous rose color with golden shimmer (not so much plum/berry at all). The color goes on almost transparent with just one application, but because of the golden shimmer, it leaves a beautiful sheen on the lips like a sheer lipgloss. The texture is a lot lighter than the lip butter, and it's rather smooth than waxy. It leaves the lips well hydrated, and after it wears off, the lips do not feel dehydrated like when the Revlon lip butter wears off. After two applications on the lips, there is more color deposit which gives a nice rosy tone. It is much like a lipgloss without the stickiness and mess. It also does not feel greasy as the Maybellion baby lip balms can leave behind. However, for the price and the lack of pigmentation, this is just an overpriced lip balm/chapstick that's not even really tinted. If you like the lipgloss effect but does not want the glop and the sticky liquid, I suggest you go for this. Otherwise, stick to a good old Chapstick if you just want some moisture and protection for your lips. Or you can get the Revlon lip butter if you prefer a fully tinted lip butter/balm. Because for the price, it is not worth it.
